The Solar New Year is now so close and then, after that, it’s only about six weeks until the Lunar (Chinese) New Year and I imagine just about everybody is ready for a fresh new start right about now!
Here are some easy-to-implement Feng Shui tips to greet the energies of 2010 mindfully and joyfully, as you would welcome an honored guest.
1. First, make physical and metaphoric SPACE for fresh energy, incredible opportunities, new clients and excellent Good Fortune to come into your home, business and life. It’s time to clear out any old, depressing or stagnant chi from your home, purse, wallet, computer, files, car and office.
2. Afterwards, as you deep clean, imagine that you’re sweeping away any bad luck, obstacles, negative mindsets, stress or exhaustion. Leave everything shining and sparkling! Make sure all of the trash and recycling are emptied on New Years Eve (NOT New Year’s Day!).
3. Increase the yang chi by increasing the amount of light in your environments. Wash your mirrors and clean your windows. Place mirrors across from windows. Add more electric lighting. Add lots of festive sparkling lights and lit candles. And in the days leading up to the New Year, leave all the lights on until you go to sleep.
4. Deep clean your car inside and out—this is the vehicle that takes you forward in your life and career.
5. Rev up the energy my moving your bed and desk, even if just few inches, but keeping them in “Commanding Position” (see my blog, www.10KBlessingsFengShui.typepad.com, for details).
6. Pay off as many of your debts as you are able and pay all of your current bills in full to set the intention of being debt-free in the New Year.
7. Fill your pantry and fridge full of healthy vibrant and delicious foods to affirm longevity and health.
8. Bring in lots of healthy, green and round-leafed plants—you can make a path with 9 of them from the front door to your bedroom.
9. Treat yourself to a brand new purse and wallet (red!) and fill with lots of cash (uncirculated, best of all). Add money from a rich person, 3 coins on a red ribbon and a Lucky Dollar.
10. Put fresh new clean sheets on all the beds and replace all the towels. New ones are best of all, if you can.
11. Feed the birds as these sweet creatures symbolize the bringing of “good news” and they lift the happiness chi around a home.
12. On New Year’s Eve, let out all of last years energy and welcome in the new by:
· Make a list of all your successes, joys and positive chi experiences from 2009.
· Keeping all the lights on in the house
· Opening all the windows and front door
· Ring gongs and bells; light firecrackers at Midnight to blast away any negative chi and hail the new year
13. On New Years Day, set strong and heart-felt intentions, wishes, prayers and goals for 2010 and honor with a ceremony of some kind. Some suggestions are:
· The Wish Fulfilling Jewel
· The Sky Lantern Release
· A Feng Shui Vision Board
