1. Clear all clutter including papers, electronic files, in-boxes, wallet, purse, briefcases, your car, unreturned calls and calendars. Unsubscribe from email lists and block junk mail. Clear clutter in hallways, foyers, stairways and entranceways representing the arteries and veins (clogged can result in high blood pressure). Clear any physical blocks and obstacles (furniture, doors not opening, etc.)
2. Sit and sleep in the “Command Position” at all times.
3. Check all electrical systems (represents the nervous system, hormonal imbalances, nervous or emotional break-downs, adrenal burn out) and fix any shorts; frayed wires; empty light bulb sockets; broken outlets, sockets or switches; broken appliances; or burnt out bulbs (metaphors for “burn-out” or having a “short fuse” or being “over-loaded”).
4. Decrease the high EMFs from computers, digital clocks, tvs and so on with either plants (palms, peace lilies or philodendrons) or by protectors (such as Bio-Pro products) plus 50mm Swarovski crystal sphere. Use a flat screen monitor. Switch to halogen or full-spectrum lights. Remove all electrical devices--TV's, clock radio's, answering machines, power strip outlets—from your bedroom or, if you must have them, then keep them eight feet from your body.
5. Practice Chi Cultivation every day!
- Spend time in the fresh air and sunlight to re-charge your batteries
- Meditate
- Use aromatherapy oils of sweet orange, neroli or bergamot
- Open windows each day for at least 10 minutes
- Choose good and uplifting company
- Physical fitness such as qi gong, tai chi
- Spend time in prayer, meditation or reading scriptures/sutras
- Spend time in nature (how 'bout a membership to the Chinese and Japanese Gardens?)
- Receive chi transmissions or energy healings: acupuncture, acupressure
- Get great sleep (see below)
6. Bring nature inside to your space using the Five Elements of Metal, Fire, Earth, Water and Wood (with plants, flowers, water fountains, stones, bamboo, lit candles, aquariums and so on).
7. Take sabbaticals from noise, media, computer, idle chatter, driving etc.
8. Get excellent sleep
- Place your bed in the Command Position
- Your bed should be up off of the floor with nothing underneath it so that the chi can circulate around your body while you sleep.
- The headboard should be solid wood (not metal) without openings or slots so as to give you protection and support, acting like a ‘mountain’.
- En suite bathrooms absolutely need to be sealed off from the bedroom by keeping the door closed and the toilet lid down all of the time.
9. Use sound to shift your stress by ringing bells or singing bowls or playing sacred music (Imee Ooi).
10. Avoid all white and monochromatic décor schemes. But also be careful of too much yang color.
11. Repair any water leaks because they not only drain your energy, they can also lead to depression or emotional outbursts
12. Keep your air conditioning and heating vents clean and unblocked or that can make your more stressed and raise your blood pressure.
13. Have gold fish, cat or dog animal companions.
14. Practice both inner and outer Feng Shui and really address the cause of the stress (money, relationship, health, etc.)
- Inner (mindset, time/energy management)
